The ever popular Kia Sorento is getting several style and capability enhancements for the new model year. The 2019 Sorento has been hitting dealership lots for the past couple of months and not sticking around for long because everybody wants one. So, what’s new on the 2019 Kia Sorento? Check out the powertrain, exterior and interior highlights below.
The 2019 Kia Sorento will come with a choice of engines: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 185 horsepower or a 3.3-liter V-6 rated for 290 horsepower. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that was available on the 2018 model is going away, but a diesel engine option may be available later in 2018 and early 2019. Other driving changes are a new Smart Shift & Drive system taking the place of Drive Mode Select and Kia’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems being standard on Sorento trims starting with the EX.
Minor style changes on the 2019 Kia Sorento promise to offer an even more attractive and aggressive look. The front fascia has been enhanced with some small grille changes, a new headlight setting, and a new sculpted bumper. The rear fascia will also receive a new bumper, liftgate, and muffler tip. Three new wheel designs will also be available, with their size (17 to 19 inches) depending on the trim level. Upper trims will get new LED lighting for the taillights, headlights, and foglights.
New enhancements on the interior of the 2019 Kia Sorento include a new shifter knob, steering wheel, air vent and central console design, and instrument cluster. Features that are newly available on this 2019 model include two-way powered front passenger lumbar support on the SX and SXL trims, Mahogany (SX) and Terracotta (SXL) interior colors, upgraded navigation, a wireless smartphone charging tray, and up to 10 speakers with the Harman Kardon® branded stereo system.
